Indy woke at the sound of her phone and she half opened her eyes and grabbed it from the bag beside the bed and answered.
“Hello” shes said, half asleep
“Did you just wake up?” replied Yasmin
“Yeah…”
“Okay, well are you going to pick me up soon?”
“Hmm”
“Im going to your house… remember? You were gonna pick me up?”
“Oh Yea! What time is it?”
“11:00”
“11:00? Ah, I’ll wake up Andy now and we’ll come get you”
“I’m Awake” said Andy lying on the floor looking at Indy, she laughed
“Alright, call me when your close?”
“Alright, see ya”
“Bye”
Yasmin hung up. Bradie was already up and walked in. “You guys aren’t up yet? We’re supposed to go soon!”
Andy just moaned and threw a pillow at Bradie, who seemed quite annoyed and just walked out.
“We better get up yeah?”
“Yeah” said Andy
Indy took her dress and went to the bathroom and got changed, just put her hair in a messy bun and washed her face to freshen up. When she came back out, Andy was already dressed and grabbed the care keys.
“Something to eat first?”
“Nah, not even hungry”
“I am” he smiled and went to the kitchen, grabbed a packet of chips and went to the car
“Chips in the morning?”
“Yep” he smiled
Indy laughed and walked outside. “Bradie! We’re going come on!”
Bradie was already standing outside
“Oh Sorry” she smiled
They got in the car, Andy drove, Bradie in the backseat and Indy in the front.
They were almost at Yasmins so Indy told Bradie to call her.
“Hey Yasmin, we are almost here”
“Awesome, tell Indy about time!” she joked
“Andy’s driving”
“Tell them both”
“Okay, see you soon beautiful!”
“Bye” she smiled at her mobile.
“Beautiful aye?” said Indy
“What, she is” he said embarrassed
“I know, I know, but seems like you two have a stronger connection now” she winked, Andy just looking at her smiling as she teased Bradie.
“You’ve learnt well” Andy said
When they arrived Yasmin hopped straight in, Rhiannon was with her.
“Rhiannon, didn’t know you were here” said Andy
“Yeah, makes it easier” she smiled
“Shame Geoff can’t come aye!” he said, the car went silent, they all stared at Rhiannon.
“We are just friends” she blushed
“Yeah yeah, I saw the way he was looking at you” Said Bradie, everyone looked shocked that he said that.
“Bradie, are you sick or something?” Said Andy
“No! Can’t I say something!” he snapped
“Whoa, watch out, Bradie on the loose” Said Andy
“Oh that was lame” Indy laughed, everyone joined
“It actually was” admitted Andy
“Why are you still In your formal dress?” asked Yasmin
“Didn’t go home or bring spare clothes”
“You could have borrowed mine?”
“Nah its fine” she smiled
They arrived at Indy’s at 12:40 and all went to her room to go book the flights, accommodation and all for their holiday to fiji!
Indy walked to her room, before her mother saw she was still in her dress. Indy knew she would get a lecture about how she should have bought spare clothes when she knew she would stay at “Yasmins”. She quickly got clothes from her cupboard and went to the bathroom to get changed. Her computer was on and Andy decided to hack her facebook and write typical immature status’s.
“You’re all jealous I turned up with that babe Andy Clemmensen last night” he wrote
“Babe?” laughed Bradie.
Andy looked and added. “except it sucked that, that Bradie kid that looks like a goat came to!”
“Its too, t-o-o.”
“I don’t care” he said
Indy came back out, looked at her facebook. “Oh ha ha, so mature Andy”
Andy was sitting on her desk chair, so she sat on his lap and went to the flight centre website. Everyone else stood around.
“Ah, lucky, deals for fiji this week! Everyone up to pay $200 for flights?”
“Yeah, that’s good” everyone agreed, the excitement starting to build up.
“Okay Good” she smiled, taking out her credit card and booking. “Oh and if you guys are thirsty or something, you can go help yourself its fine”
“Actually yeah I’m gonna go get a drink.” Said Yasmin walking out, followed by Bradie.
As they walked out, Rhiannon just sat on the bed and Andy slipped his arms around Indy’s waste seeing as she was still on his lap.
When Yasmin walked into the kitchen she was greeted by Indy’s mum
“Yasmin darling! How are you? Haven’t seen you in a while!”
“I’m good thanks, how are you?” she smiled, seeing as Yasmin and Indy had been friends for years, she knew her mum really well.
“Good Good” Bradie was standing awkwardly behind them. “And whos this?” she smiled
“Oh Sorry, this is Bradie” she smiled, Bradie held out his hand… although it was a manly gesture.
“Nice to meet you” she smiled, shaking his hand.
Yasmin got two cups and just got apple juice then walked back to Indy’s room
“Okay accommodation! I’ve been to fiji before and I know a good place”
“Alright, do whatever you want really, we trust you with this stuff” said Yasmin
“Alright, good, that’s booked too. That’s all we really need right?”
“Yeah, that should be it” smile Rhiannon.
Unexpectedly, someone started talking to Indy on msn after it automatically signed in.
“You still have msn?” Andy laughed
“Shut up” she smiled “It’s Jake!” indy said excited

“I can keep it going” Indy said poking out her tongue. She looked over to see Bradie, Yasmin and Rhiannon examining the pet bearded dragon lizard she had in her room and continued the convo.

“Just standing my ground, don’t want you guys getting any idea’s!”
“You mean him getting any idea’s, you know I wouldn’t do anything!”
“I know, I know!” she smiled, he kissed her on the cheek.
“Well guys, its all set. Two weeks from now, we’ll be in Fiji” Andy smiled
Back at Yasmin’s, Andy, Bradie, Indy and Yasmin were still talking.
“You know tomorrows our five month anniversary right?” Andy questioned
“I honestly forgot…” said Indy, laughing slightly.
It was silent for a few minutes. “Let’s go do something!” said Andy
“What, it’s like 11pm” said Indy
“So, remember our first date, that lasted until like 2am”
“I’m also kinda in my formal dress”
“C’mon Indy”
With hesitation and out of impulse. Indy agreed.
“Is it okay with you guys” said Indy to Bradie and Yasmin.
“Honestly, it’s fine!” smiled Yasmin.
Indy and Andy were the next couple to leave that night. Andy stood up, held out his hand and as expected, Indy put her hand in his, stood up and walked out the door.
“It’s just us now!” Bradie said with a cute little smile. Although us readers would expect Bradie and Yasmin to be loud and completely comfortable with each other, seeing as they had been official for a while now, it was actually not the case. Bradie loved Yasmin, he really did. He actually blushed when he thought about her or would smile to himself. Bradie hadn’t even told Yasmin he loved her yet, he was just too nervous, fear ruled over him, the fear that she didn’t like him that much to the extent where she truly loved him and that their relationship was just a casual thing, without much commitment.
But looking from Yasmin’s point of view, she had the same thoughts. Her and Bradie were so alike. They had a love for drums and music, a similar sense of humour, both shy. She wasn’t really sure if there relationship was serious like Andy and Indy and she envied them for how they were so open and honest with each other, no matter what crossed their path. She really wanted to feel like she could 100% be herself with Bradie and not loose him and tell him that she loved him very much, but wanted to know if he felt the same.
Their insecurities and fear kept back their true selves. “So, you looked really beautiful tonight and you were a really good dancer” Bradie said to break the silence and although it worked up his nerves.
Yasmin looked and smiled “And they say Andy’s the good dance, you own him”
Bradie giggled and smiled. They were sitting next to each other on the chair outside looking up at the stairs. As Yasmin looked up, Bradie looked at her and grabbed her hand.
It was rare that they actually had any physical contact beyond hugging. On the rare occasion they would hold hands but it was even rarer that they kissed. Over the four months they had been together they had only kissed about five times if that. But they weren’t the type to display public affection, although they were along on many occasions.
“Yasmin…” Bradie said with hesitation, looking down at their hands. “I love you” his stomach tensed up as well as his hands, Yasmin could feel it.
“I love you too” she smiled, putting her head on his shoulder. Bradie’s smile was far, far bigger.
“You know something funny Yasmin, I really do love you but I’m scared that if I do something you won’t like me anymore.. I think I sound like a five year old” he laughed
“No, no, I honestly think the same!”
“Really?”
“Yeah!”
“We are more alike then I thought” he smiled. “and don’t worry, I know whatever you do, I’ll always like you”
Yasmin didn’t really know what to say, but she was happy and when she least expected it, Bradie kissed her smack on the lips and this kiss lasted a lot longer than the others. “Oh Bradie, I really reallllly love you” she smiled
“You’re clearly the adorable one”
“Please, you’re the one who always smiles and just kissed me…”
“We’re equal!”
“Deal”
While Bradie and Yasmin were together, Andy was driving Indy to a location unknown.
“Where are we going?”
“I actually don’t know”
“You’re feeling impulsive tonight aren’t you”
“Yep” he laughed
Indy sat there, curious to see where they would end up.
“Oh I know!” Andy said “But it’s going to be a surprise!”
“Alright, fair enough… but are we almost there?”
“Yep”
When they arrived, it was just a simple park.
“It’s a park?”
“Yeah, I don’t actually know why I came here”
“Shotgun the swing” Indy joked, just like their first date
They raced to the swing and Andy pushed her while she was on it.
“This is weird in a formal dress”
“Yeah and in a suit”
“Imagine if someone walked by now, they would be thinking we are two insane weirdo’s”
“I think we are two insane weirdo’s”
“I actually agree” they laughed
They could smell the fresh morning chill in the air and the silence was relaxing. Indy stopped swinging but was still sitting. Andy looked at his i-phone to find it was 12:00am. He walked infront of Indy, pulled her up and kissed her passionately.
“Happy five month anniversary Indy, the month or so we weren’t together doesn’t count”
“I love you Andy, you’re too sweet”
“That’s what I want you to believe” he laughed
Indy kissed him and just stood in his arms for a few minutes.
“Do you wanna go back to Yasmins?”
“Please Andy, its only been half an hour if that! Lets do something fun!”
Indy realized she was at Rouse Hill Regional Park and knew the shopping centre wasn’t far. “Lets go to rouse hill!” she announced
“Everything’s closed?”
“Doesn’t matter” she smiled. He took her hand and they started walking to the shopping centre.
It was outdoors so you could walk around and that’s just what they did. Indy had her camera so they acted like idiots, took silly photos and laughed endlessly. They went to the secret garden and took more photos. “Thanks for a good night Andy” she smiled
“You’re the one who made it good”
“We better go back now and take Bradie home” announced Indy, seeing as it was somehow two in the morning.
They walked back to the park and got in the car. When they arrived at Yasmins the front door was still open. They checked the veranda to see if they were still there. Bradie and Yasmin were in the exact same spot and very quiet. When Indy stood infront of them, she saw they were fast asleep with Yasmins head on his shoulder and Bradies arm around her.
Indy and Andy both laughed loudly. “Big night for them” Indy laughed.
“How do you fall asleep on a chair?” said Andy.
Indy woke them up. “Wake up guys”
They were both embarrassed but then had a laugh. “Bradie, I better take you home”
“Good idea” He stood up, he wanted to kiss Yasmin goodbye and have one of those ‘couple’ moments, but didn’t like doing that infront of Indy and Andy.
“Alright, alright, we’ll meet you outside” said Andy, knowing what his step-brother was thinking.
“Bye Yasmin” said Andy
“See you tomorrow at mine Yasmin, I’ll pick you up!”
“Alright, bye guys”
Indy and Andy walked out the front of the house.
“Bye beautiful” Bradie said, kissing and hugging her.
“Bye Bradie” she smiled.
Bradie fell asleep on the way home in the car and Andy drove. They arrived to Budgewoi about three in the morning.
“Andy, its really late to drive home, do you mind if I sleep here?”
“Nah it’s fine, you can have my bed.”
“No, you need to sleep somewhere”
“In the bed… JOKING! I’ll just have a blanket on the floor seriously.”
“Sure?”
“Yeah”
Andy went to Bradie’s room to get spare blankets, he was already sound asleep. Andy went back to his room and saw Indy sitting on the bed.
“You don’t really wanna sleep in your formal dress… do you?”
“No, but I don’t have any other choice?”
“Some of my sisters old clothes are still here, hang on”
Andy went to find clothes, while Indy set up his bed on the floor, she was after all only 18 and didn’t really feel comfortable sleeping in the same bed as Andy. He came back with clothes that looked like new.
“Thanks Andy” she said
“No problem babe.”
She went to the bathroom to get changed and came back. Andy was on his normal bed on the laptop doing his usual 3am reply spree’s. Indy sat next to him.
“Reply spree?” she asked
“Yeah, might as well”
She sat watching him. “Hey I know her! That’s Amy and Emily and that’s Ebony and Sam!”
“You know them?”
“Yeah, I knew them before I met you through twitter!”
“Whoa, that’s cool”
“Oh and that’s maddy and taylor and sunny! They are all up really late for a change”
“You know a lot of people on twitter”
“Yeah, I got addicted for a while”
As Andy sat replying, Indy leaned on his shoulder and soon couldn’t keep her eyes open. Andy looked and she was in a deeper sleep then Bradie was. He shut his laptop off and just held her for a few moments with his eyes closed, leaning against his wall. He too was finally getting tired, he laid her on the bed and put a blanket over her, then went and slept on the floor.
Indy looked at Andy; he just smiled as Geoff still stood there with his hand out.
“Okay, maybe a quick dance” she said smile, to avoid hurting his feelings.
She stood up and went to the dance floor with Geoff, but she did not take his hand when he held it out to her. Indy was feeling awkward, Geoff felt like he belonged with the crowd of teenage boys who had a crush on a girl. They danced facing each other, but Indy definitely didn’t hold his hand or anything of the sort, in fact, she felt incredibly awkward but wasn’t the type to be rude. Geoff just smiled at her.
From afar, Andy and Rhiannon sat watching.
“What’s going on?” Andy asked Rhiannon. She knew clearly what was happening, but didn’t know if she should tell Andy out of spite or jealously, or to let it be.
“Ummm… I’m not to sure?” she said, deciding to avoid argument.
“This is weird”
“I second that”
Indy looked back at Andy, who looked away quickly to pretend he wasn’t watching. Geoff took a step back and accidentally went straight into Bradie.
“Sorry, oh its just Bradie”
Bradie laughed “Thanks, it’s just me”
They both laughed, Bradie asked quietly “Why aren’t you dancing with Rhiannon?”
“I don’t think she wanted to dance, and Andy didn’t right now, so I thought I would invite Indy to dance”
“Ah, fair enough” Bradie was puzzled and didn’t think this explanation made sense, but he just brushed it off. Yasmin smiled at Geoff and gave a “What are you doing?” look to Indy. She just shrugged.
“We better go sit back down” smiled Indy
“Okay” Geoff smiled back
“Have fun?” Andy asked, putting his arm around the top of Indy’s chair when she sat down as she moved closer to him, both of them doing this for clear reasons.
“Yeah, wanna dance now?” she asked him smiling, directing the question at Andy.
“My pleasure” they got up and Geoff looked as they danced like a couple, holding hands, looking into each others.. doing all the cliché things to young people in love would do.
As Geoff stared, Rhiannon began to not care about the impression she was making and just talked to him anyway.
“So, why did you ask her to dance?”
“Uh, it just looked like she wanted to” he smiled and looked back.
“It’s kinda obvious you like her…” Rhiannon put her hand over her mouth. “I’m sorry, that.. it just slipped”
He just stared at her. “No I don’t.”
“It’s fine, I’m the only one who noticed”
“How?”
“Well, I’ve seen you, you stare at her, put all your attention on her and you asked her to dance! Whoa, can’t believe I’m being this honest”
“Rhiannon, I consider you as a very good friend of mine, considering we’ve been talking a lot over the past few weeks and I know I can trust you, but what do I do? I can’t like my best friend’s girl! It’s wrong on so many levels and I.. I don’t even know why I asked her to dance.”
“Well, stop liking her is the only thing you can do?”
“But how?”
“What makes you like her?”
“I.. I don’t really know, she’s so nice and funny and individual!”
“Well, look at her flaws and don’t say there isn’t any because every girl has flaws. Try and find those or try liking someone else and not focusing so much on Indy”
“I’m sorry”
“Sorry for?”
“Ruining your formal, I should be dancing and spending time with you”
“It’s okay, you didn’t ruin it”
“I did, I honestly thought it was a bit awkward I was nervous to come see you considering we’ve talked so much over the internet and not face to face”
“I did too to be honest, but I was really looking forward to seeing you”
“Me too” he smiled, looking at her.
“Do you think you’ll get over her?”
“Yeah, it wasn’t a big thing, just a little crush. This is really weird; it feels like an episode of home and away or something”
Rhiannon laughed “This really is!”
Andy and Indy were dancing and smiling at each other. “Look, Geoff and Rhiannon seem to be talking more now” Andy smiled
“Thank goodness!” Said Indy
“Why?” Andy asked, he was still confused about before
“Because then they might get on better and it will be less awkward for them” she smiled
As they danced, the song “We Dance to a Different Disco Honey” came on. Indy started laughing
“Well.. this is awkward” said Andy smiling
Some girls were staring seeing as they knew he was, others gave Indy and her gang strange looks for laughing so loud. They soon sat down and started talking with Rhiannon and Geoff.
“You guys excited about schoolies in a few weeks” Indy smiled
“Yeah, we need to get organised for that” said Andy
“Meet up at mine tomorrow if you want and we’ll book flights and that?”Indy asked
They all agreed it was a good idea and just had to tell Bradie and Yasmin.
“You want to come Geoff?” asked Rhiannon boldly, she felt far more confident now she had confronted him and he had told her something personal.
“It’s best I don’t, I’ve got some work to do with the band, maybe next time” he smiled
Bradie and Yasmin finally come and sat down to hang out with the other guys when the night was close to it’s end. The rest of the night was all talk about what they wanted to do in Fiji. Bradie was up for the snorkelling and beach activities and Yasmin smiled when he said so, thinking about how much they were alike and how perfect he was. Rhiannon, being herself, wanted to do a bit of site seeing and too snorkelling so she could take pictures. Andy and Indy? They were easy going, hanging on the beach and relaxing was their ideal holiday.
It was announced at 10:30 that it was time for everyone to start leaving, so back in the limo they went and off to Yasmin’s house. When they arrived, the boys didn’t go home straight away, but just hung around and talked. Yasmin’s parents were already asleep so they made sure to keep quiet and decided to sit outside on the veranda. It was a beautiful full moon and there was not a cloud In they sky.
“Well, we better go home yeah?” Said Geoff
“You can head home without us?” Said Andy and Bradie
“We came in one car?” he laughed.
“I’ll drop them off home” Smiled Indy
“Fair enough, you guys sure?”
“Yeah, we’ll stay a bit longer” smiled Bradie
“Rhiannon, you staying her tonight?” asked Yasmin.
“Nah, Indy was gonna drop me off”
“I can take you home if you want?” smiled Geoff
“If that’s okay with you guys?”
“Yeah, its fine really!”
“Okay, night guys, see you tomorrow at Indy’s yeah?”
“Yeah, see you Rhi”
Rhiannon and Geoff walked out the door and went to the car. “Thanks for the ride” she smiled, butterflies flying around in her tummy.
“No problem really, it’s the least I can do after tonight”
“But, nothing really happened?” she said
“I was you’re date and I screwed up, so I feel bad”
“You can stop apologizing, really its fine”
He just smiled and began to drive.
“You looked really beautiful tonight”
Rhiannon looked innocently at him “Thanks” she said shyly.
He looked back and smiled. It was another cliché in this love story, but he believed he was falling for her, but he still wasn’t sure. Feelings for Indy had not yet faded, but he didn’t know if he liked Rhiannon because of her beauty, her personality or just because he was confused and had been alone for a long time. He didn’t want to come across as desperate or a player by asking her out, but he wasn’t sure if he was going to miss out on an opportunity.
When Geoff arrived at Rhiannon’s he got out of the car and walked her to the door, she walked to her door slowly as possible and was thinking, wishing, hoping that he would kiss her goodnight, just like in the movies! That romantic moment when they were about to part and she would be about to go inside then BOOM! Their lips would collide. She kept hanging on this thought and fantasy, just as any teenage girl would.
When they arrived at the door, Geoff stood behind her and she went to go to the door.
“Goodnight” he said smiling, then turned to walk back to the car.
Typical, her fantasy didn’t come true.
“Bye” she smiled back, turning to face the door. She opened it and was about to walk inside.
“Rhiannon?”
“Yes” she turned back eagerly.
“Thanks for being a good friend” he smiled
“It’s alright, you too”
“Goodnight again!” he laughed
“Goodnight” she said
“Rhiannon?”
“Yes” Rhi repeated.
“You’re a really good person”
“Thankyou” she smiled.
She went to walk inside.
“Rhiannon?”
“Yes Geoff.”
He walked up to her, and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
She blushed until her face was completely red, then she decided to go in for the hug. He hugged her back.
“I really don’t want to come across as a player or desperate” he said honestly. “And I know I can be honest with you, but, do you think, you might like to catch up again some time? Like dinner or something? I don’t know.”
“It would be lovely” she smiled.
“Awesome!” he smiled eagerly… walking backwards slowly to his car. “Goodnight! For the last time!” he laughed.
“Goodnight Geoff” this time she walked inside.
Chapter 34:
The two weeks had passed and exams were finally over. Indy hadn’t seen much of Andy seeing as she was studying, same with Yasmin and Rhiannon. Although Rhiannon had been talking to Geoff a lot, practically every time she would have a study break. Geoff began to like Rhiannon strongly as a friend and was excited to spend the night with her at the formal.
When the night of the formal came, they all decided it would be fun to go together. Andy hired a stretched limo and they all met at Yasmin’s house. The girls had been there all day and were just waiting for the boys to arrive. Yasmin wore a beautiful long midnight blue dress, one made of silk and that brought out her smile wonderfully. Rhiannon wore a yellow dress, that suited her perfectly, it suited her personality and looked amazing on her. Yasmin always thought for her formal she would wear black or white, maybe purple but in the end decided on a deep red dress. It had sparkles neatly organised at the front, was perfect for her shape and was unique, just like her.
The guys all decided to arrive together as well. The doorbell rang and Yasmin answered it.
“Whoa” said Bradie, smiling a very goofy but adorable smile. Yasmin didn’t do anything but blush and showed them in.
“Whoa, you girls all look really… great!” Said Geoff in a bit of shock, although it appeared the Geoff’s focus was on Indy. Rhiannon was looking at him hoping the compliment applied to her too.
“Hey Geoff” she smiled sweetly.
“Hey, you look really nice!”
“Thanks, you too”
Andy walked straight up to Indy, took his sunglasses off and whispered in her ear “Beauty is too weak a word to describe you right now”
“Sweet is too sour to describe you!” she smiled back,
Bradie and Yasmin hugged and went to the kitchen to get pre-drinks before the limo arrived. While they were doing so Rhiannon and Geoff sat and tried to keep a conversation going. Rhiannon did not know much about music itself, just like how Geoff didn’t know much about photography.
Andy and Indy went outside to the veranda. The moment they were out of sight, Andy put his hands around her waist and kissed her straight on the lips. “It’s only been two weeks and I’ve missed you like mad”
“You’re too much of a distraction when I have to study” she laughed “But I’ve missed you too”. They only kissed outside because they didn’t want to others to feel uncomfortable with the sudden greeting, especially seeing as it was very quiet when they walked in. Rhiannon and Geoff came out and sat at the table with Andy and Indy. Geoff sat directly opposite Indy and smiled. Bradie and Yasmin followed with the drinks.
“So when’s this limo supposed to get here?” asked Indy, holding Andy’s hand under the table.
“Uh, I think it was about 5? Wasn’t it Andy? The formal starts at 6 doesn’t it?” said bradie
“Yeah, it was 5” replied Andy
“So we have about ten minutes, awesome!” said Yasmin. “Do you guys wanna take some photos?”
“That’s a good idea!” said Rhiannon looking at Geoff while she spoke, but she couldn’t help but notice he kept looking at Indy or zoning out.
They all stood up and went inside to find Yasmin’s mum. They all got a group photo and then photo’s as a couple. It was good times because just as they were finished taking photos they heard the limo honk its horn.
“Have fun kids!” smiled Yasmin’s mum as they walked out the door.
“Thanks,” smiled Bradie, as he was always trying to make the best impression with Yasmin’s parents.
They all got in, Andy went first, Indy was next, then suddenly Geoff too. Rhiannon looked puzzled, but followed, Yasmin next, then Bradie last.. trying to be the gentlemen he was. The drive was about an hour long and Andy and Indy were cracking jokes all night, trying to get everyone laughing, but Geoff especially laughing at Indy’s joke. He didn’t complete ignore Rhiannon of course, he was still friendly and talked and joked with her as much as possible, but… he didn’t feel the same way about Rhiannon as she felt about him. It was soon becoming clear to Rhiannon who he did have feelings for and she wasn’t liking it for two reasons. No one else seemed to take any notice though, everyone was still acting completely normal.
“You look really pretty in red Indy!” smiled Geoff
“Thankyou” she replied with a smile. Andy went a bit silent and just looked at Geoff, thinking it was random, but brushed it off. Geoff started to speak less and began thinking to himself. “Wait, what am I doing? This is my best mates girlfriend? I shouldn’t even be looking at her, let alone flirting with her!”
“Geoff?” Said Bradie
“Sorry, zoned out!”
They all just laughed. “We are here! Cmon lets go!” Said Rhiannon excited.
They got out of the car, all next to their partners as the photographers took photos. Geoff was trying to force himself to stay away from Indy after realizing his sudden lust. He stayed on the opposite end with Rhiannon and began talking to her more. Rhiannon was so pleased with this and smiled uncontrollably, but couldn’t help but wonder what made him change?”
They walked inside, everyone staring at them. The popular people had look’s of envy and smiles as fake as their personalities. The girls they always thought of as un-cool but nice or anti-social had just walked in with the best looking, sweet and famous guys known. They all walked with smiles on their faces and Andy grabbed Indy’s hand just to rub it in. They sat at their table, Geoff wanting to avoid Indy, but due to the seating arrangement, actually had to sit next to her. He just smiled and looked down at the table, then tried talking to Rhiannon.
They had their meal and the teacher’s had made their speeches. Many jokes made and laughs coming from their table, people still continuously looking over. Then the music came on and people were allowed to dance, go outside, do whatever they wished.
As they sat, Jake walked past. Indy hadn’t spoken to Jake very much after that incident a while ago involving Andy. He still bravely walked over. “Hey Indy” he smiled
“JAKE! How have you been? Its been a while! I hardly see you at school anymore”
“Things have been pretty good lately, you?”
“Really good” she just smiled.
“Hi Andy” he said
“Hi kid” he replied, still not to fond of Jake after all the crap. They didn’t speak much more after that,
“Well I better go…” said Jake.
“You have a date?” Andy asked
“Nah,”
Andy just laughed at him, Indy glared and slapped him leg. “Andy, shut up. See ya Jake, we have to catch up one day!”
“Sure, Bye” said Jake walking off.
“Andy!”
“Sorry, couldn’t help it, after everything he put us through”
Indy just ignored that comment.
“We’ll dance later?” said Andy
“You just want to show off” joked Indy.
“Yes, show off my girlfriend.”
“Ah, well played” she replied. “Okay, we will a bit later”
Bradie and Yasmin were already dancing, bradie wasn’t much of a dancer, but Yasmin wanted to and Bradie just wanted to make her happy. They danced together and laughed loudly, Andy, Indy, Rhiannon and Geoff were all watching. Rhiannon hoped so badly Geoff would ask her. He suddenly stood up, she looked back at him and he was facing indy with his hand out.
“Want to dance now?” he smiled.
Indy sat there, puzzled. Andy just as confused. He looked at them, then at Rhiannon, who too was just staring. Andy didn’t know what way to take this but just say in silence.
“Ummm…” said Indy.
A week had past and the day had arrived for the short stack and for our hero show. Bradie already asked Yasmin and Indy called Rhiannon to come tag along. None of them had ever met for our hero before, even though they had known Shaun, Bradie and Andy for ages, although the boys had told for our hero all about Indy and Yasmin.
Indy picked up Yasmin and Rhiannon from Yasmin’s house in the morning and headed to the Annandale hotel. Indy gave them each a backstage pass that Andy had given her a few days earlier. Rhiannon was particularly a big fan seeing as she had a tiny celebrity crush on Geoffrey. They arrived just about ten minutes before the show started and doors were already open, they walked in and there was quite a large crowd, so they weren’t able to use their passes before the show. They went at the back of the mosh, although tried to be as close to the front as possible.
For our Hero were the first to perform and Rhiannon was instantly captivated by them and hardly payed attention to anything around her, she was holding her camera and took a few fair pictures of the band… especially Geoff playing his bass. All the girls had a good time dancing and singing along, until For our Heroes part of the show was over. Next up, short stack. Sure, they all still loved their music and thought they were amazingly talented, but it seemed so strange now that they knew the boys personally. The crowd cheered, girls squealed as Shaun spoke.
“So what did everyone think of For our Hero?”
The crowd just replied with another loud roar.
Shaun just smiled and Bradie started off “Bat Country”. Short Stack played a successful show and when it came to an end, the girls sneaked behind stage, without other fans seeing.
“You guys sure they won’t mind?” asked Rhiannon nervously
“Yeah, seriously it’s fine” replied Indy
“You sure For Our Hero won’t mind?”
“Rhiannon. Trust us, they won’t care”
Rhiannon still nervous followed the other too until they heard distant laughter. They walked down a small hallway and went into a large room, where all the guys were sitting on tables, lounge’s, chairs and just being boys.
Andy saw Indy walk in. “Indy!” he walked over to her and put his hand around her waist. “Guys, this is Indy,” Andy smiled.
Indy blushed. “Hi” she said, feeling a bit awkward and embarrassed.
They guys all greeted her with a hi.
“Trust me, Andy’s told us so much about you” said Beau, causing her to blush more.
“oi, bradie, which ones Yasmin?” asked Dave, not implying it in a rude way.
Yasmin walked over to Bradie “me” she smiled with confidence.
“Heard you’re a drummer yeah?”
“Yep, better than Bradie Webb himself, just kidding”
Bradie just smiled.
“Brooke didn’t come?” Indy asked Shaun
“nah, had work, she’s seen as plenty of times anyways”
“Fair enough” replied Indy.
“Hey, what’s your name?” Smiled Geoffrey, directing the question at Rhiannon.
Butterflies filled her stomach, she was feeling a bit out of place before seeing as she’s only met the boys once before and that wasn’t in the company of so many other’s.
“Rhiannon,” she smiled and said quietly.
“Oh yeah, sorry, so rude of me. This is Rhiannon, our friend from school. She’s in our photography class” added Indy
“Didn’t know you did photography?” said Andy
“You do now, I’m not very good though. It’s just easy” she laughed. “But seriously, Rhiannon is pro!”
Geoff saw the camera in her hand and before he was going to ask if he could see some photos, nax jumped in.
“Can we see some photos then?” he winked.
“I’m not as good as Indy makes out” said Rhiannon, being very humble.
“Nonsense!” added Geoff, “let us have a look”
She gave her camera too him. “Oh my Gosh! Did you seriously take these today?”
“how else would they get on camera dumb shit?” said Andy
“Shut up” he replied.
Everyone crowded the camera and Rhiannon stood opposite them, embarrassed but happy.
“Do you mind like sending us some of these? So we can use them in promo’s and stuff?”
“Yeah, that’s fine?”
“Whats your number so we can arrange something?” smiled Geoff
Rhiannon couldn’t believe it. Nervously, she gave him her number.
“Thanks so much for that! You have to be a professional photographer when your older”
“Would be a dream come true”
“Trust me, it will!” he said honestly.
“Anyways, we better go out and meet some people hanging around.” Added Nax
“Is it okay if we hang in here?” asked Yasmin
“Yeah sure,” he replied.
The boys went out the door, down the hall and went outside where as the girls remained.
“You have a crush on Geoff…” Indy just came right out with it.
“A guy I don’t even know? Don’t be stupid” she replied
“C’mon Rhiannon, I’ve known you for ages. You so do” added in Yasmin.
“Now he has your number! Oh la la” said Indy being a tease.
“So? Doesn’t mean anything!”
“It might, I had Andy’s number remember and look how it turned out”
“Well, maybe”
“AHHHH! You do like him” said Yasmin
“Shhhh, just a little!”
“Awwwwwww!” Indy and Yasmin said together.
About an hour later, the boys came back.
“We’re finally back” said Andy.
“Really? Never would have known?” said Yasmin, walking over to get her bag.
Andy just rolled his eyes. “Wanna go out for lunch or something?”
“Yeah alright, I’m talking Yasmin and Rhiannon home though, so they’ll have to come”
“Yasmin, when are you ever gonna get your license?”
“When I’m ready” she said.
They had all known each other for a while now and could pretty much say anything to each other and it would be fine.
“Oi Shaun, wanna come?”
Before Shaun could reply Geoff added in. “Why don’t we all go?” he smiled.
“Yeah, that’s a good idea!” Indy said enthusiastically, looking at Rhiannon.
“Awesome, there’s a good Thai place down the road” he said.
They all get their bags and were going to walk there, hoping all fans would be gone by now, not in disrespect to them, but just so they could have a bit of privacy.
“Oi, where’s jumpnow and sonny and that?” asked Indy, realizing she hadn’t talked to him in ages.
“Couldn’t come to this show, Jumpnow is starting to uni again soon, so he won’t be touring anymore?”
“Shame, won’t get to see him as much?”
“Probs not.”
Indy continued to walk with Andy and Shaun, while Yasmin was more so with Bradie, Rhiannon and most of For Our Hero. Except Geoff was with Nax. Rhiannon sort of looked alone as she wasn’t really sure what to say to the crowd she was with, although she was excited.
“So how long have you been doing photography for?” asked Geoff
“Huh? Oh umm since year seven I would say?”
“What year you in now?”
“Twelve”
“Schools ending soon aye?”
“Yeah, can’t wait! Formal soon!”
“Isn’t the formal when school’s finished?”
“Nah, our school’s weird, we have it a few weeks before the end of school.”
“When is it then?”
“About two weeks away”
“Cool, guessing Andy is going with Indy and Bradie with Yasmin”
“Yeah, Andy and Indy already organised everything and I’m guessing Bradie and Yasmin are going together?”
“What about you?”
“No one” she smiled
The conversation ended seeing as they were at the restaurant. They had one long table to themselves and everyone sat where they wanted and ordered their food.
“So Rhiannon, found anyone for formal yet?” Asked Andy, seeing as on the way Indy told them about her little ‘secret’.
“Nah,” she said quietly
“Why don’t you take her Geoff, you guys seem to hit it off pretty quick?” replied Andy, being embarrassing
Everyone ended up going silent and just looked at Geoff and Rhiannon, of which both of them just glared at Andy.
“Um.. well… uh?” said Geoff
“Andy, its fine, I can go by myself”
“No, I’ll take you if you want?”
“It’s fine really, don’t feel like you have to” she smiled
“No really, it would be fun, we can go as friends”
“Okay then, cool thanks.” She smiled although she felt like dancing around with joy.
“Good, that’s settled. Oi Indy, where you wanna go for schoolies?” asked Andy
“Don’t mind, maybe a cruise, fiji?”
“Fiji would be cool”
“Fiji is mad!” raved on Dave and Shaun, seeing as they had been.
“Go to fiji guys, it’s a good place for a holiday.”
“I haven’t been on a holiday in ages” said Beau
“You could all come if you want?” said Indy. “We would just do our own thing”
“Depends, when is it?” asked Beau
“I’d say a month and a half away?”
“That’s cool, don’t think we are doing anything around then?”
“fiji sound good to you guys” said Andy, directed at Bradie, Yasmin and Rhiannon.
“Yeah,” they all agreed.
“It’s settled. Fiji it is!”Said Indy excited!
Indy sat, practically rocking back and forth, Andy holding her tighter by the second. It seemed like hours until the police officer returned.
“Ma’am, we were able to identify who it was, they are just seriously injured. It was a single male passenger who went by the name of Matthew. Is this who you know?”
“Oh My goodness!” Indy leaped up and actually hugged the police man.
“Sorry, I shouldn’t be so happy, but that is not him. Thank you so much officer!”
“Your welcome” The police man walked away and Indy and Andy walked back to the car, this time Indy having her arms wrapped around Andy.
“I swear he’s going to have some explaining to do tomorrow!” Indy exclaimed.
“You both do.” Andy muttered under his breath.
The car trip home was very quite, Indy being tired and Andy unsecure. When he arrived at her house, he didn’t even get out of the car and just said goodbye.
“Goodbye Andy, see you soon?”
“How about tomorrow?”
“Sure! What about when I meet Jake at towers tomorrow, we organised it last week!?”
“Perfect”
“Bye Andy, I love you”
“Bye Indy.” Andy reversed and drove straight home.
Indy just though Andy may be tired and went straight to sleep, because she knew she sure was, the extra stress cause her to be more exhausted than before.
The next morning Indy had to go school, but got a sleep in because of the two free periods she had in the morning. It was getting close to the end of her school days and she was incredibly excited as well as relived. Indy got in her car and drove to school, today was the day she only had art and double math. So she even got to leave after period five. She actually didn’t see Jake in art and was quite surprised! She really wanted to talk to him about why the hell didn’t he answer her call last night, then she realized she still hadn’t talked to him and hoped he was alright.
Art was lonely and she just continued her final painting for her HSC and the two periods of math seemed to fly by… which was quite rare. She was looking forward to meeting up with the guys, especially seeing as Andy actually wanted to meet up with Jake!
When she arrived no Jake nor Andy was there yet. She texted both of them, getting a reply from neither. She waited about ten minutes before a strange coincidence occurred… both came the exact same time but in opposite directions.
“Jake! Why the hell didn’t you answer my calls last night! We we’re freaking worried sick! Their was a taxi that crashed! We thought it was you!”
“Ah sorry, my phone was dead!”
“All that stress for nothing!”
“Sorry!”
“Anyways, wanna go to the park?”
“Gladly” Said Andy.
The park was opposite the road from towers and pretty much just a small area of grass with a few flowers, no one went there much. The arrived quickly, no one said a word during their quick walk. Indy began to develop a bad feeling in the bottom of her gut, something telling her tension was being created and something bad was soon to happen.
The second they stepped foot at the grass, Andy stopped walked. Jake and Indy turned back to look at him.
“Oi, pretty boy what’s up?” questioned Jake in a rude manor. Andy just looked slyly at him then the adrenal in him rose. Within a second Andy threw a punch at Jake! Knocking him straight to the ground.
“ANDY!” Indy ran to Jake’s aid.
“What the FUCK were you doing kissing Indy? You know we were going out! You know I would never fucking being with her to get in her pants!”
“What?” Indy was confused, but didn’t move from infront of Jake, until Jake pushed her aside to have a swing at Andy, causing Indy to fall to the ground. But what chance did a 18 year old have against a 22 year old?
Andy blocked the punch and pushed him to the ground, picking Indy up.
Indy was slightly sobbing and Jake just lying on the grass. “Andy, I’m sorry, I should have told you” Indy said.
“Your damn fucking right you should have! I told you when I did! I mean, I try and try so hard not to get jealous, let you guys hang out by yourselves, I displayed complete trust in you!” He just sat their, ashamed of loosing his temper, but ashamed of showing trust.. in the end all that filled Andy was a strong sense of confusion.
“Andy, it was Indy’s freakin fault! She backed away! It was mine! I would love her more and better than you ever could! She doesn’t deserve you”
Indy just gave Jake a look that expersess ‘What the hell’
“Guys, honesly! What the fuck!”
And was surprised.. he had never heard her swear before.
“This is like the crap that happens in movies! Don’t fight over me, it’s stupid! It feels stupid! Andy I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to go against your trust, I know it won’t happen again and personally, I’m sick of these up’s and down’s we’ve already had to go through! But I’m sure we can make it through these obstacles we’ve already had to encounter! And Jake! You’re my best friend, how can you say he’s not good enough for me? You know I love Andy! Honestly I’m a bit ashamed in both of you, none of this ever had to result in freakin violence!”
Both boys silenced, Jake broke it by storming off. Both angry at Indy and himself.
“Indy, I didn’t mean to lash out like that.. it’s just, I don’t even know anymore”
“Like usual, we will resolve this. All is forgiven, we just need to stop having these dramatic moments!”
“Okay, but.. why didn’t you tell me?”
“I technically did, just accidentally. But seriously, I didn’t want this to happen, but I guess it does when you keep things secret.”
“I guess, sorry Indy.”
“It’s alright ‘pretty boy’” She joked.
“Oh ha ha! Anyways, when’s your formal?”
“Three weeks this Friday!”
“Not too long!”
“Yeah. You sure you want to take me?”
“Did you seriously just ask that, of course I do!”
“Can’t wait,”
“Yeah, me either. Don’t you have schoolies like next term”
“Oh yeah, I do! Not going anywhere though”
“Why not?”
“Don’t know really.”
“That’s it, I’m taking you somewhere! Yasmin and Bradie can come too”
“That actually sounds like an awesome idea. Do you remember my friend Rhiannon?”
“Um… Oh yeah! I do!”
“She can come yeah?”
“Yeah sure. That reminds me, doing a show next week with For Our Hero supporting, wanna come?”
“What day?”
“Friday night, over 18’s.”
“Yeah, sounds awesome!”
“Bring Rhinannon!”
“And Yasmin!”
“Of course!”
The rest of the afternoon, Indy didn’t really worry about Jake or what happened that afternoon. She was over pathetic drama that was occurring and just decided to take it easy. Although she really couldn’t wait for her formal! She was showing up with Andy Clemmensen, finally she could be rub in those ‘popular’ girls faces that she wasn’t just some loser weirdo, or even if she was, someone loved her for it.
“We better be heading home aye?”
“Yeah, its pretty late”
Just as they were walking down the harbour towards a car park, Indy got a call and assumed it was Jake.
“Hello?” said Indy
“Indy, thank goodness I got you! You’re with Jake right?”
“Um no, he left about an hour ago to go home?” Jake’s mum had called Indy
“Have you had any contact with him? I’ve tried calling but he won’t answer his phone!”
“No, I haven’t but I will try and get back to you, maybe he will be home soon?”
“Okay, I’ll see tomorrow morning, you’re probably right”
“Bye Susan”
“Bye Indy”
Andy was just looking at Indy while she was on the phone. “What happened?”
“Jake’s mum can’t get hold of him. I’m going to try call”
“Indy it’s only been an hour? I’m sure he’s fine! His mum is probably worrying too much”
“I’ll try anyway” Indy tried to ring Jake, three times to be exact. But each time she just got his voicemail. Indy grew with strong concern, but wouldn’t let it show. “I’ll just try tomorrow”
“Good idea” Andy smiled, not concerned at all. “You cold?”
“It’s a bit chilly”
Andy didn’t have a jacket and just put his arms around her “Sorry, I don’t have a jacket”
“This is better anyway, it’s less corny and cliché too” She joked
Andy smiled down at the girl he was holding in his arms. They arrived at the car, he opened the door for her and she hoped in front. The drive was quite as Indy fell asleep in the front seat. As Andy was driving along the highway he encountered some traffic. Indy woke up.
“What’s happening?”
“Uh, not sure”
“Weird, traffic at this time of the night?”
“I know! Oh well, want to call your mum to let her know your alright but will be late?”
“Yeah she’ll probably worry”
Indy dialled her home number and waited three rings before someone answered. “Hey mum!”
“Indy, you coming home soon?”
“As soon as I can, there is a bit of traffic on the highway!”
“Oh, okay then! Well I’ll see you when I get home, Andy better be keeping you safe!”
“He is” Indy smiled, although her mother couldn’t see. “Bye mum”
“Bye”
Soon, Indy and Andy were at the front of the traffic and saw a police man, ambulance and a fair few people gathered around. Andy and Indy grew with curiosity and looked out the side towards the accident. Indy’s face grew white, her gut dropped. At the side of a road was a taxi flipped over someone on the ground. After the 10 seconds of shock, Andy grabbed her hand and squeezed it tight. Indy let go, ripped off her seat belt and jumped out of the car, running towards the taxi screaming. Andy automatically jumped out after her.
“Indy, stop!” When he caught up to her, he stopped her and pulled her in, she dug her head into his chest and let the tears of fear stream down her face. “Indy its okay, we don’t know if that’s the taxi Jake was in, it probably isn’t, it’s all going to be okay, I promise babe it will be okay”
“I..it…it won’t. It’s my fault. It’s all my fault. Andy, I shouldn’t have left him there, I shouldn’t have made you guys meet, I shouldn’t have told him off for kissing me yesterday.. everything’s my fault”
‘Kissed her yesterday?’ Andy thought, but didn’t mention it. It definitely wasn’t the time right now. “Indy, it’s not, it’s okay”
Police had come straight up to them, seeing as they were not supposed to be there.
“Sir, please return to your vehicle”
“Officer, please, who was in that taxi?”
“Sir, I am not obliged to tell you that information, now please return to your vehicle”
“Please, just tell us when the accident occurred and who was in it” pleaded Indy.
“About an hour ago, I think there was one man in it I’m not sure”
Indy trembled and moved closer to Andy, crying more. “Andy it’s Jake. It had to have been, it was him for sure!”
“Sorry, but do you know who was in the accident?”
“She’s not sure, our friend left in a taxi about an hour ago. His name is Jake, he has black hair”
“And blue eyes” added Indy sitting down after becoming a nervous wreck, Andy joining her with his arms still around her tightly.
“I’ll go check with the other officer’s who it was”
“Wait, what? Called back? I never even gave you my number…” said Andy, feeling ashamed, embarrassed, confused and anxious all in one and was practically looking at Indy while he was speaking to the girl of whom he didn’t even know her name.
“No, but I gave you mine! You said that you had an amazing time and you would call… and who the hell is this?”
“I don’t even know your name?” Andy was regretful of the situation he was in, he hardly even knew this girl, it was something he did out of anger and too much alcohol, unaware of his actions after believing Indy hardly cared about him.
“Uh, Indy maybe we should wait outside until Andy’s finished with this” the sarcasm was easily detected in the tone of Jake’s voice. He held his hand out to Indy in a “friendly” fashion.
Indy looked at Andy with confused and hesitant eyes, then back at Jake. “Okay” she said walking off, but didn’t take Jake’s hand. As they were walking out, Indy had her head down and Jake turned back to look at Andy and gave him a smirk that Andy easily saw, but Indy didn’t notice. The second Andy saw this smirk from Jake, he straight away ignored this pesturing girl and went after his. He was NOT going to let this Jake kid make him look like the bad guy.
“Where do you think your going?”
“Look! Get lost alright, you’ve caused enough trouble! I was drunk, it was a small accident and one night that meant nothing!”
“WHAT? You said you loved me?”
“Your full of shit, go tell someone who cares”
Andy stormed out quickly to search for Indy and had many people staring at him on his way out, some knew who he was, other’s just joining the crowd by whispering and making the scene bigger than it was. Andy couldn’t care less, he didn’t think this would go public seeing as it was nothing really, nor was he famous enough.
“Indy! I’m sorry, I can explain all that”
Indy turned around and smiled, Jake just looked back. She wasn’t really hurt, she had a hunch she knew who it was and did show complete trust in Andy, it showed very much by the shine of her eyes and the natural but big smile that her face contained.
“Andy, it’s fine. I’m guessing that’s the girl from last time and she just over reacted, don’t worry, I trust you”
“Your completely amazing, because you have no idea how guilty I feel”
“Well don’t, it’s honestly fine”
Andy grabbed her hands, partially out of his love for her, but also because Jake was right there.. although Andy was acting as if he wasn’t.
He kissed her on the forehead as she blushed. Jake coughed loudly and deliberately interrupted their moment.
“Let’s go back inside and get our drinks?” He announced, walking through them, causing their hands to part.
“Good idea” Indy smiled kindly, recalling Jake was there too, she didn’t want to hurt him, but wanted to help him get over her.
They went back in, the saw the girl sitting at the bar talking to another guy and as they were walking to their table they got many strange stares. Indy giggled like a school girl, this also causing Andy and Jake to laugh and everyone to turn away embarrassed at their immature stares towards the trio.
They took their seats and didn’t really talk while waiting, until Indy broke the silence, trying to find something for them to talk about. But jealously was too great for the both of them and they were happy when their drinks finally arrived.
“So your still in school yeah?” asked Andy
“Yep, same year and classes as Indy”
“Cool, how long you guys known each other?”
“Since year nine really”
“Only a few years”
“More than you!”
This caused silence and Indy to feel embarrassed. “I’m going to the bathroom, I’ll be back in a sec”
“Okay Babe!” Smiled Andy
When Indy was out of sight, Andy gladly talked to Jake. “Look, I’m going to lay down a few ground rules. Don’t think you can ruin this okay! Indy’s mine! She loves me and I love her more… your not going to step in and think you can be more than friends!”
“Whoa, calm down. Ground rules? You can’t tell me what to do and Indy’s a good kid, even if I did try to make her leave you, she would leave me. She loves you.” There was a pause. “But that definitely doesn’t mean you deserve her?”
“What?”
“You don’t deserve her! She’s far to good for a sleaze like you who will probably leave her the second after you get to second base, I’m prepared to do anything to show Indy that!”
Andy fired up inside he stood up prepared to release the tension and fury. Just in time Indy came back.
“Everything okay?”
Andy sat down. “Perfectly fine, care to dance?”
“Oh, you know I can’t dance!”
“That’s rubbish, c’mon”
“Okay. I’ll try”
Now Andy was the one passing a smirk to Jake as his arm slipped around Indy and they practically danced right infront of their table. It was clear to everyone that she was having the best time, the smile and laugh showed it, but the eyes clarified it true. Indy was one of those girls that smiled with their eyes and it was clear to everyone who knew her.
Unaware, they were dancing infront of Jake.“Hey Andy…” she whispered in his ear as her head was on his shoulder
“Yeah?”
“I know it’s strange for a girl to ask.. but my formal is coming up in a few weeks”
Andy cut her off. “Would you like to go to your formal with me?” he smiled
“Nope!” She said in a serious tone.
Jake heard their conversation and smiled to himself as he was looking down. Maybe there was a chance that she could go with him.. just as … ‘friends’
“Of course I will silly” she said putting her nose to his, bringing them to a kiss.. this of which Jake saw.
He knew he promised Indy he would go their for her, to try and get along with Andy, but it obviously hadn’t worked, caused more pain and he wasn’t getting over her anytime soon. He asked the waitress if he could borrow her pen and wrote on a napkin ‘it’s getting late, caught a taxi home’
Indy was so caught up in the moment that she forgot about Jake. Andy smiled at this obvious action and believed Indy wouldn’t leave him, regardless of what publicity or Jake had to say about him. He wasn’t a ‘man-whore’. He did love, truly and strongly. The whole image of being a slut didn’t worry him when it was to the public, but in his private life, it was his biggest concern, because it was the biggest lie that had been told.
When Indy and Andy stopped dancing, Indy recalled she had left Jake alone.
“Oh my goodness! Where’s Jake?”
“Uh he wrote on this napkin… ‘it’s getting late, caught a taxi home’”
“I feel heaps bad”
“Don’t Indy, you didn’t do anything”
“I left him alone”
“He could have talked to other people?”
“I guess”
They decided to walk out of the club and went for a walk alone the harbour.
“Indy.. he still has feeling’s for you doesn’t he?”
“Yes” shes said straight forward.
“You don’t share them do you”
Indy looked at Andy, but her eye’s were not smiling. “Andy, I know your not jealous, well I see your trying not to be, but please, I don’t have feelings for Jake. They vanished the second I met you… as corny as it sounds. I love Jake as a friend, he’s been there for me, just as I’ve been there for him, both of us being in similar situations.. but Andy. I love you.”
There came another kiss, one of hundreds they have shared, but this one feeling more special then the previous. “I love you more than music, more than my band, more than life itself”
